2011/01 Amendment to the State Property Administration Act
A separate section has been added to the State Property Administration Act in order to remove legislative obstacles in implementing public-private partnership projects. The section relates solely to handling state property handed over to a concessionaire based on a concession contract concluded according to the Public Procurement Act.

2011/01 Changes to public health insurance
An amendment to the Act on Health Insurance Companies aims to tighten the regulation of public health insurance companies' payment solvency and increase the transparency of contractual relations by making contracts public. These changes to the public health insurance system seek to ensure transition to the so-called unified collection system, which will also include the tax system.

2011/01 Support for renewable energy
Electric energy production from renewable sources is supported based on Act No. 309/2009 Coll. With respect to a significant decrease in such technologies' costs since the respective act was approved, further amendment of this act was required.

2011/01 Amendment to the Higher Education Act
The amendment has introduced an obligation to publish final, masters' and doctoral theses stored in the central registry of final, masters' and doctoral theses. Adoption of this amendment is expected to lead to a decrease in plagiarism and fraud when acquiring university, scientific and academic degrees, and to an increase in the quality and competitiveness of Slovak universities.

2011/01 Amendment to the Act on Property Rights to Land and Agricultural Property
The Act on Property Rights to Land and Other Agricultural Property was last amended in 2010. The most recent amendment supplements previous changes to the act and removes the possibility of speculative provision of compensatory plots outside the cadastral area in which the original plot was located. Besides this, the amendment also regulates termination of restitution proceedings by means of providing compensatory plots or financial compensation for the original plots.

2011/01 Being prepared in Parliament – Amendment to the Act on Securities
The Government of the Slovak Republic proposes to define and introduce rules for a connected system, i.e. a system comprising two or more payment and risk balancing systems carrying out transaction orders. It also proposes amending the security-of-payment systems and systems balancing risks stemming from eventual insolvency of system users in cases where they are part of the connected system.
