New Act on Short-term Lease of an Apartment

The main aim of the provisions of this new act relating to tenancies is to set out the rights and obligations of landlords and tenants under the so-called short-term apartment lease regime, within which, according to the explanatory statement, it is necessary to balance the rights and obligations of parties to the lease.

 
Amendment to the Act on Personal Data Protection

The amendment of this act has brought a number of changes that should reduce the administrative burden, as well as alleviate some of the duties, currently imposed on operators and intermediaries. This will be achieved, for example, by the introduction of a reporting requirement instead of the current registration requirement, or by the imposition of facultative fines. The amendment also reduces the upper limits on fines for violations of the law on protection of personal data.

 
Consumer Protection Act in the sale of goods or provision of services on the basis of a distance contract or a contract conclude

The new legislation regulates the information obligations of sellers more precisely and extends the formal requirements for contracts concluded between sellers and buyers. At the same time, the procedure for applying the consumer's right to withdraw has been made more precise.

 
Amendment to the Civil Code

In response to problems arising from the provision of funds to consumers by so-called non-bank subjects, the Civil Code has been amended to introduce usury as a new basis for invalidating legal action against debtors.

Being prepared - Bill on certain measures related to notifications of wrongdoings

A bill has now been submitted for interdepartmental consultation that would protect whistleblowers and those who report wrongdoings. The proposed bill also envisages the possibility of financial rewards for citizens who report wrongdoings; in addition, it contains other, very specific provisions.
